I followed the recipe very well on this one! Instead of buttermilk, I used almond milk and a bit of lemon juice. Instead of sour cream, I used plain yogurt (thanks Neil!). Everything else was the same - I even separated the eggs. And I used 1/4 cup of shortening and 1/4 cup of butter as specified. That is a lot of fat.

I just used my normal waffle maker, so they were a bit flat.

I realized that the waffle pictures will probably not be as exciting as the pancake ones, since all waffles are the same shape. Oh well.

They tasted good, kind of egg-y, which is not really my style but some people like.

Syrup on top of powdered sugar on top of a waffle is a perfectly acceptable lunch, right?
